THE CORONAVIRUS BREAK OUT, STATE-BY-STATE
“ The debate about federalism was a fake debate and I have actually offered this a great deal of thought,” Levin stated. “This has nothing to do with federalism. The president has more power to order governors, if he selects, to open their economies than individuals believe.
” States have the power to manage commerce within their boundaries, however the Congress under the federal Constitution is the only body that has the power to manage interstate commerce,” Levin went on. ” Guvs, through their dictates and their fiats of what’s necessary and not essential, closing down organisations– that’s the supreme guideline. If it impacts interstate commerce in an extremely unfavorable method, the president can in reality enfore the interstate Commerce Clause of the Constitution, where guvs do not have the power to control interstate commerce.
” The state’s cops powers do not encompass interfering with interstate commerce,” Levin continued. ” The stipulation was explicitly put in the federal Constitution to promote commerce nationwide.”

Levin concluded his point by accusing governors of practicing “one-way federalism.”
” These guvs are a little baffled,” he stated. “They think federalism indicates they have all the power and no responsibility, that they can make whatever decisions they desire and the rest of us have to pay for it. That’s one-way federalism. No such thing exists.”
