The older, sicker locals in Indiana nursing homes make the environments especially prone to the coronavirus. However there are other reasons that the illness has been so lethal there.
Until now the state has consisted of in its official count only the deaths of people who evaluated positive for the infection known as SARS-CoV-2, Indiana State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box said.
Each day the state notes how many deaths have been reported to state officialsin the past 24 hours.
