UPDATE (3:24 p.m.) – San Luis Obispo County health officials updated their daily COVID-19 case count on Friday, downgrading the daily total to seven cases and 324 confirmed cases overall.
Thirty-five people are recovering at home.

(1:56 p.m.) – San Luis Obispo County reported eight new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the county’s total to 325 confirmed cases as of June 12.
Three people are hospitalized, including two patients who are in the ICU.
Thirty-six people are recovering at home and 285 people have recovered.
San Luis Obispo County has had one death attributed to COVID-19.
The health department reports that a total of 13,181 coronavirus tests have been conducted so far at both the public health lab and at private labs.
Free coronavirus tests are currently available in Grover Beach and San Luis Obispo. Next week, pop-up testing clinics will also be open in Nipomo on Monday, June 15, and Tuesday, June 16, and in Morro Bay on Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18.

Of the total case count, Paso Robles has 124 cases, Atascadero has 47, Nipomo has 33, Arroyo Grande has 26, San Luis Obispo has 24, Templeton has ten, Pismo Beach and San Miguel each have nine cases, Morro Bay has nine, and Grover Beach has five. Eleven inmates at the California Men’s Colony have also tested positive for coronavirus. Another 17 cases are in communities with fewer than five cases and the health department is not disclosing those locations.
Health officials say 151 of the cases are the result of the patient having direct contact with another person who tested positive for the virus, 115 cases have been determined to be the result of community transmission, and 55 cases are from travel. Three cases are still under investigation.
