TULSA, Okla. –
Tulsa’s police chief tweeted his gratitude to the city and its visitors for keeping the peace Saturday as President Donald Trump held a rally at the BOK Center.
In his tweet, Police Chief Wendell Franklin wrote:
“Thank you Tulsans for showing the world how to let views be heard without violence. The world media was bored because there was nothing controversial to report. How do we change the narrative? By being #OneTulsa.”
Roughly 6,200 people attended the president’s rally Saturday night, while thousands more walked through downtown Tulsa in what was a festival-like atmosphere. While there were some discussions and a handful of heated moments, as day turned to evening, the atmosphere turned celebratory as Tulsans walked to the Greenwood district.
