MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C.– A brand-new COVID-19 forecast reveals a peak in cases in Mecklenburg County will not hit until June 27, according to information launched by county health officials.
The designs show the curve of cases flattening gradually, given that March. Cases are still rising, however at a slower rate than once in the past, according to the information launched on Monday.
Assuming 45%of the neighborhood practices social distancing, Mecklenburg County’s health centers will require the most beds by June 27.
There are 283 crucial care beds in Mecklenburg County, according to health officials.
Contact tracing, where health officials track who the virus has been passed onto from a patient, is also hard.
” At this moment in time, in this county, we do not have that,” she stated. “At this moment in time, it’s difficult to state that we would completely open back up on the 29 th of April without that taking place (when the stay at home order expires).”
If county authorities choose to relieve limitations, Harris expects a boost in cases.

” The likelihood is that we’ll see more cases. What is going to be extremely uneasy for our community is if we unwind a lot, and after that have to clamp down once again due to the fact that our numbers go way up,” Harris said.
