This guy should keep his eye on the speedometer, not the thermometer.
A New Jersey man who was clocked going nearly twice the speed limit on a highway tried to evade a journey to jail by declaring he had actually come down with coronavirus signs, police said Wednesday.
Christopher Ospina, 20, of Haledon, NJ, was clocked doing 130 miles per hour while heading west on I-80 Tuesday, according to state authorities.
Ospina pulled off the interstate in Lodi and stopped at a filling station.
However he later on jumped back into his BMW and sped off when he identified State Troopers coming for him, cops stated.
The speedster later turned himself in at the Totowa State Cops Station, where he tried to tell troopers he had COVID-19 signs before being transported off to prison, cops said. It was unclear if he was really ill.
Ospina could not immediately be reached for remark.
