A DeKalb County church will host free drive-thru COVID-19 testing next week, Gov. Brian Kemp announced Friday.
Testing will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at House of Hope Atlanta, 4650 Flat Shoals Parkway in Decatur. Those who have symptoms, have a loved one with symptoms or believe they may have been exposed to COVID-19 are encouraged to participate.
At least 400 tests are expected to be available, the governor’s office said.
Pre-registration is necessary in order to secure an appointment and can be completed by calling 404-294-3700 and selecting Option 1.

Those hoping to get tested will be screened based on CDC guidelines, officials said. Asymptomatic residents may qualify for the free testing if they believe they may have come into contact with the virus or if they have underlying conditions like high blood pressures, diabetes or immune disorders.
Insurance is not required.
Residents without appointments will not be permitted to enter the testing site on Monday.
Participants will be able to drive to the site and remain in their vehicles during the test, officials said, but a walk-up testing booth will also be available for those without vehicles.
The pop-up testing site was coordinated by the Governor’s Task Force Community Outreach Committee, as well as the Georgia Department of Public Health and the DeKalb County Board of Public Health.
DeKalb County has seen the second-highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Georgia. Areas of southern DeKalb — where the testing will be conducted Monday —have been particularly hard hit.
