One of the most essential pieces of safety gear for healthcare workers amidst the COVID-19 pandemic is the N95 mask, designed to filter out 95 percent of airborne particles. However the rise of clients with the extremely infectious illness has meant way more demand than supply. Now, researchers are exploring whether it’s possible to decontaminate and recycle the vital coverings. John Yang reports.
