LATEST June 16, 8:20 a.m. Three workers at a winery in Sonoma County tested positive this week for COVID-19, according to the Press Democrat.
The employees worked in production and didn’t have contact with the public in their jobs.
Sonoma County Health Offier Dr. Sundari Mase didn’t name the winery and told the Press Democrat, “I can’t from a public health perspective give it to you.”
This news comes after 14 employees at a winery in the county tested positive last month.
As of June 14, Sonoma County has 758 confirmed cases, up 36 cases in the last 24 hours, Mase said in a video message posted on Facebook Monday. The county has implemented about 35,000 tests.
The county permitted wineries to open tasting rooms with safety protocols in place on Friday. Previously, wineries could only serve wine if food service was also provided. Now they can offer tastings without food, Mase said.
The modification to the order doesn’t allow bars and pubs to reopen without meal service.
