176 new cases, 4 additional deaths in Nevada

The number of Nevadans who have tested positive for COVID-19 has increased by 176, bringing the statewide total of known infections to 9,266 people, according to new data posted to the Nevada Health Alliance dashboard. It’s the largest increase in identified cases in the past 13 days.

The number of deaths statewide increased to 433.

Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 decreased 6.3% on Thursday, and ventilator use among known or suspected cases has fallen to 119.

According to the dashboard, 5,477 tests were administered Thursday, resulting in 176 positives — a single-day positive rate of 3.2%. The cumulative positive test rate since testing began stands at 5.6%.

Carson City man dies from COVID-19; 18 new cases in Quad-County

Thursday

A Carson City man died from COVID-19 — the sixth individual to fall victim to the disease in the Quad-County region, according to the Carson City Health and Human Services.

Health officials said they did not know if the man was suffering from any underlying health conditions.

According to a news release on Thursday, CCHHS also reported 18 new positive cases, six of which were individuals under the age of 18.

The majority of the cases were reported in Lyon County.

The recent increase accounts for 9 percent of cases in the Quad-County region. In total, 220 cases have been reported with 59 cases remaining active.

Health officials also reported one additional recovery—bringing the total number of recoveries to 155.
