A north suburban mom whose 16- year-old boy passed away after contracting the coronavirus states she’s searching for responses about just what triggered his death.
Zach Leviton, a sophomore at Wheeling High School, passed away Monday, April 13 at a rural health center after waking up with signs that exact same morning.
” He was not feeling 100%for a number of weeks,” stated Julie Leviton, Zach’s mother. “Complained of feeling lightheaded, had low energy and tossed up one day.”
Leviton stated she called a medical professional, but there was no concern for coronavirus at the time because he was not experiencing a fever, cough or shortness of breath.
On April 13, Zach awakened with his left arm feeling limp, not able to take a drink of water. Leviton stated she called 911 and Zach was taken to Glenbrook Healthcare facility in Glenview then later transferred to Promote Lutheran General Healthcare Facility in Park Ridge.
By the afternoon, Zach’s signs had actually quickly weakened and physicians put him on a ventilator. They told Leviton it appeared that her son had the early phases of the coronavirus, despite screening unfavorable.
