— TRUE ABOUT CATHERINE DROUIN, WHO WAS TRULY SELFLESS COMMITTING TO HELP OTHERS WHILE GIVING HER OWN LIFE IN THE PROCES PALM CENTER, A NURSING HOME IN CHELMSFORD, LIKE SO MANY PLACES WHERE THE ELDERLY AND MOST VULNERABLE LIVE, HAS SEEN ITS UNFAIR SHARE OF TRAGEDY THESE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. WE WERE THERE WHEN THE NATIONAL GUARD CAME IN TO CONDUCT TESTING SEVERAL WEEKS AGO. 53 RESIDENTS HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR THE VIRUS AND AMONG THEM ARE 29 DEATHS. BUT THERE ARE ALSO 46 POSITIVE CASES AMONG STAFF MEMBERS AND ONE LONGTIME SOCIAL WORKER WHO HAS NOW LAST HER BATTLE. A Chelmsford nursing home worker has died from coronavirus.Catherine Drouin, 69, worked at the Palm Center nursing home in Chelmsford. Her husband, Dennis Drouin, told the Boston Globe the social worker volunteered to work 10 days straight despite the pandemic. The company that runs the home didn’t mention Drouin by name. They said they were mourning a well-loved colleague of more than 20 years. Her husband of 42 years told the newspaper, his wife “was always above and beyond in her job; she was never selfish. She was always so caring, she never stopped, even when she got sick.”Drouin died last week at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. Her husband said he could not be with her at the time of her death.”It was the hardest thing to not be there to hold her hand. I told her my little grandson loved her, and I told her I loved her,” he said. The National Guard tested all the home’s residents and staff. As of Sunday, 53 residents tested positive for COVID-19 and there were 29 deaths.

A Chelmsford nursing home worker has died from coronavirus.
